#Toshiba universal printer 2 update#
If I change the driver on the Print Server, will all the workstations update themselves with the new driver as users login, or do I need to use a Group Policy to remove the printer and Re-Install it? Will there be any problems down the track using a PS3 instead of PCL driver? (I don't fully understand the difference) If I did follow the local Toshiba support, and change to use the PS3 driver Is there a way to file a bug report with Toshiba about this driver? I have kept copies of the file causing the problems, in the hope they could shed light on the problem. This file seems to be written to every time you save the print preferences. (probably only one line it would be getting stuck on). Looking at the file, my guess is that the driver is not writing the correct information to the file and when a colour copier wants to use the file, it doesn't understand it. I can't work out what the user may be doing that would cause this. If I remove the file the problem goes away.Ĭ:\Users\%username%\TOSHIBA\eSTUDIOX\UNIDRV\PCL6\imagequality.xmlįor some reason the problem is only gone for a day or 2 and then it's back. This file seems to be causing the problem.

I researched this further, through trial and error and then contacted the local Toshiba support, and the Tech did not seem the slightest bit interested in what I'd found and was determined there was no fault in the driver and after I had said yes I'd tried everything he suggested, he said maybe I should just use the Post Script driver. We have 6 photocopiers all Toshiba and all using the latest Universal Print Driver from Toshiba. Toshiba Auto-ID, Barcode and Label printers are the perfect solution for everyday business. Black and white copiers are not a problem. This problem only occurs on the copiers that are colour. I have about 5 users (out of a few hundred) that are not able to view the print preferences on some of our copiers.
